July 16, 2009; Emily’s Birthday
-Emily-
I had woken up to breakfast in bed, my favorite pancakes, eggs, bacon and fresh orange juice. I’d also woken up to an improved French maid costume, black boxers with white trim and a black necktie. He ate with me and after some very heavy making out; we got up and got ready for the day. Apparently he had a lot planned and considering it was something he planned in a few days, I was rather shocked.
Our cabin was on the end of the island, completely remote and private. There wasn’t anything for miles in either direction and that was perfectly fine with me. The cabin itself was open concept as there was nothing separating any of the rooms but the toilet, as even the bath tub was open to the rest of the place. Not that either of us minded really, it was nice to watch him fix dinner while I had a nice long bathe, the shower enclosure was open glass as well, I’d used that to my advantage the day we arrived. Outside the cabin had a large deck, plenty of sun and shaded spots, lots of flowers and trees, and then the beach.
He had not lied about the reception either, his phone only worked on the mainland and we’d only been there once and that was when we arrived. He had rented the car and come by the store on our way to the cabin, so there was no need to return. My phone was in my suitcase, off.
“Are we going to the mainland?”
“Yeah, but only because there is an awesome place for lunch that I think you’ll enjoy.”
The drive wasn’t long but it was nice. Where he took me was an animal rescue center on the mainland, it was a private tour and we got pretty damn close to some of the animals. He surely did know what I really liked. Lunch was very nice and it was pleasant but he seemed nervous about something. Before we returned to the island I called my brothers, Craig & Amanda, got birthday wishes and to let them know I was alive still. Zac sent messages to his family to let them know we were ok as well. We got back to the cabin about 3:40. It was nice to be able to relax without phones, TV’s, or internet.
He fixed dinner for us, my favorite dish and we ate outside on the desk.
“It’s nice here; can we take it back with us?”
“I really wish we could, it’s been kind of nice to be without computers and phones.” He said.
“Well, we’ve used the computer to unload the camera a few times.”
“Yeah, but neither of us is stuck in front of it.”
“That is true. Is everything alright Zachary? You’ve seemed nervous all day.”
“Everything if perfect.”
I wasn’t quite sure he was telling the truth there, but I didn’t want to argue about it, so I let it go. He did seem nervous though and maybe it was just because we’d be going home soon and back to reality, I didn’t want to face that reality.
-Zac-
I was thankful that Taylor had been such a big help in planning today, I’d mentioned what I wanted to do and he had run with it. She had been so happy all day, I was a nervous wreck. The ring box was still in my pocket, it had been since I got dressed because I intended to ask at the animal park then said lunch, then dinner and here it was after all three and that box was still in my pocket. She deserved the perfect moment, the perfect time and that had not happened yet. I watched her take the dishes inside and return.
“Wanna go walk off some of the carbs we just ate?”
“Yeah.”
We kicked our shoes off at the end of the deck. She loved walking on the beach, feeling the sand between her toes and the water rushing over her feet. We walked for probably 30 minutes one direction, the sun was beginning to set on us and it was going to be a great sunset. Good thing she brought the camera, she was standing about three feet ahead of me when I realized when the perfect time would be. I stood there a moment and just admired how the sun’s rays highlighted the natural tints of her hair, how she seemed to glow really. I needed to get rid of that camera though.
“Can I see the camera a moment?”
“Sure.” She handed it to me. I got a few shots of her before putting it in my pocket. She looked a little confused when I didn’t hand it back. The sun was facing her and I closed the gap.
“I couldn’t resist those pictures, the way the sun was on your face I am sure they’ll be the best ones I’ve taken in years.”
“You take good pictures all the time.”
“Not as good as you.”
She didn’t see my hand go into my pocket; she was looking at my face thankfully. I was doing this the right way, so I saw the confusion in her face when I dropped to one knee. Her eyes followed me and there was this moment where I was terrified she would say no to me. I could feel my heart pounding against my rib cage, the sweat on my palms, and even the sand felt so much rougher against my knees. But as I looked up at Emily, I knew this was the moment I had waited for. This was the right moment, so I held the box up and opened it.
“I never thought I could love someone as much as I do you. I never imagined that a day would come where you wouldn’t be just a girl across the room. From the moment I saw you standing there I knew you were the one for me. There is no part of me that can live without you. Emily Isabella Daniels, will you marry me?”
I could see the tears pooling in her eyes, could tell she had not expected that. It felt like a decade passed before her sweet voice filtered into my ears.
“Yes, I will.” She said.
I removed the ring from the box and placed it on her finger, perfect fit. I really couldn’t resist the hug, the spin, or the dozen or so kisses. This is what true happiness was. Oddly, we both reached to wipe the tears away at the same time.
“Is that why you’ve been so nervous all day?”
I cupped her face and kissed her. “It never felt like the right moment, but seeing you standing there in the sun felt right.”
“I don’t think you’re going to be able to top this birthday, surely you’ve ruined it from now on.”
“I’m sure I can find something.”
She looked at the ring. “How long have you had this?”
“You really don’t want an answer to that.”
“Sure I do, it’s gorgeous and defiantly me.”
I kissed her neck. “Two weeks after the first time I saw you in 2002. I was there with Taylor and I saw it in the case. By the time I went back to the store a few months ago they didn’t have it anymore. But I knew this was the ring I wanted, that was the one for you. So, I drew it for a designer and had it made for you. There is not another ring on the planet that looks like this. The interlocking sides with the light blue diamonds and the center section with white diamonds and a brilliant blue diamond. There won’t be another one made with the same colors and setting.”
“That’s a long time Zac.”
“I have loved you for a long time.”
We stood there in the fading light before returning to the cabin, I had her stay inside for a few minutes, let her get pictures with my phone but she’d have to wait to tell anyone because we couldn’t reach anyone. They would all be shocked too, because my family had no idea and while her brothers knew I was planning on asking, they didn’t know when or how.
I set up a romantic beach side desert picnic. I spread a heavy blanket out first, and then surrounded it with tiki torches for light. The picnic basket had two glasses, champagne, strawberries, whip cream, and chocolate dipped strawberries. I then brought her down for the late night picnic.
We sat there and had champagne and strawberries until the strawberries were gone and the champagne was mostly gone.
“You went over the top you know that right? I mean a private cabin on the beach, animals, romantic lunch, my favorite dinner, picnics, and a proposal. There is no way you can top this next year.”
“Don’t challenge me baby, you know I can top it if I want too.”
She shook her head. “There’s nothing else you can do Zachary.”
“I can think of many things that I can do.”
She looked at me for a moment seemed to be contemplating something. “Wait here.”
I watched her run inside, wondered what she was going for but she returned rather quickly so I wondered if she just went to the bathroom. She sat back down where she had been beside me but she laid my drumsticks down in my lap. I looked down at them and then back at her. I was confused as to why she brought them; it was her birthday after all.
“Emily, why did you bring these down?”
“I want you to use them.”
“I don’t have anything to use them on, my kits not here.”
Her face blushed some, even in the low light I could tell.
“I want you to use them on me.”
“Emily…”
“It is my birthday Zac and let’s faces it; you know you’re getting spanked on your birthday. I don’t mean all of them either because while you can handle that, I don’t think I can.”
“But why? You know I’m fully content with my hand.”
She moved the drumsticks and got in my lap. “I want to know that it doesn’t have to be that bad, that they can be used playfully as well. I trust you and I know you won’t over do it.”
I put my arms around her and kissed her. “No more than six and that depends on how you act.”
“That’s fine, should we pack up and head inside?”
I smiled and pulled her very close to me. “Oh no, right here is fine.”
“Yet, everyone said you were a prude.”
“Well, they don’t know much about how I am in bed.”
She kissed me. “Yeah, I gathered that. How come you don’t talk to them about it?”
I kissed her neck, slid my hands down to her ass. “I don’t want the world to know I like being spanked with my own drumsticks or about Nurse Hanson or about other things we’ve done. That is our business, not theirs.”
“Well, is this one of your fantasies? To be outside?”
“I did tell you about the beach idea, but this was actually yours. During the tour you mentioned it in a text to me. I remembered.”
“Ok, so how do you want me?”
I kissed her a few dozen times, took the shirt she had on off. “I’ll figure that out when you’re naked.”
I took my time moving around her neck and collarbone, moved down slowly. I took my time with each breast before removing the bra completely. I then laid her down, gave me time to explore more. She seemed slightly confused about my intentions, but I used my teeth to unbutton her shorts and slid the zipper down.
“I should really buy you new underwear that’s not blue.”
“Getting bored with my choices?”
“No. Just saying it’s quite predictable.” I sat up and slid both the shorts and blue panties down and tossed them with her cloths.
“This feels very strange, being naked on the beach.”
I lay down beside her and kissed her, moved my hand down the center of her body.
“You’re being odd.”
I kissed her as my hands found the destination and I felt her shutter some as my fingers swirled around the clit. I used the freedom to kiss her and to move down to the breasts too, keeping the rhythm the same. Her moans were getting louder and I could feel her squirming more beside me, I moved down and slipped a finger inside, got a good moan right to my ear. I added fingers when I felt it was right and then found a pace that was a little faster than she may have been use to, I knew I wouldn’t get a scream but the claw to the back was good enough for me. I then kissed her neck as she came down.
I finally sat up beside her, adjusted my own clothes and picked up the drumstick, she watched me intrigued as I tested my strength against my arm, finding the right amount of force that would satisfy the desire without doing damage. She started to lie across my lap, but I stopped her and moved her to be on her knees in front of me.
“This is new.”
“I want to be able to see your face the whole time. Are you sure about this?”
“Yes.”
She counted and I started with my hand, light and playful. After ten I picked up the drumstick, watched her reaction carefully. The first two seemed to hurt more and she lost all balance on the third one, but she wouldn’t let me stop. Insisted on wanting all 6, I lighten the last three up and then paused for several moments, kissed her shoulder and steadied her against me. The last ten I made lighter, wasn’t sure if she was really going to be able to handle it but she was fine. She stayed against my shoulder for a moment before she slightly turned and kissed my neck.
“You’re still dressed, not fair.”
“I’m sure you can solve that.”
She started with the shirt, removing it quickly before pushing me back against the blanket and into the sand, went right for my neck. I enjoyed her kisses and even the nails that were lightly trailing down my sides. I twisted some trying not to giggle but couldn’t stop myself. She moved down and went after the nipples. But she moved farther down quicker, she was impatient. I looked down and saw her undoing the button with her teeth; I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of that move. When she went to pull the shorts down I raised up for her.
“Sand feels different.” I said.
She didn’t reply to me but instead one had was already caressing the sac, while the other hand was wrapped around me snugly, sliding the complete length of the shaft before her tongue flicked across the head. I watched her move for a little bit, before laying my head back. I knew when she moved up, could feel her and evidently she wanted the top first.
I looked at her and smiled when she leaned down and kissed me.
“I was getting impatient.” She whispered.
I left her there for a while before moving her to hands and knees; it was defiantly dark by now but the tiki torches provided enough light anyway. Her moans were louder in this position; of course I had more freedom for speed and depth. Seeing how impatient she had been, after a short time I paused.
“Don’t even start that…” she growled.
“It’s fun though.” But, I didn’t do a repeat; there was time for that over the weekend.
I finally moved her again, knew she was getting close and so was I. The sand seemed to help angle her much better, which was fine and it meant I didn’t slide as much either. Her scream wasn’t as loud here, because we weren’t in a room but it was just as good to hear. I also was painfully aware of my new marks. I stayed right where I was though, kissed her a couple dozen times.
“I love you.”
“I love you more.” She said.
When I did move to my side she curled up there beside me.
“So, outside is not bad. The sand is kind of interesting because it provides a place to leverage.”
“I agree I didn’t slide as bad. But, sad and sweat and no blanket would mean sand in places we don’t need sand, so glad I laid the blanket down.”
She laid there in my arms for a long time before she looked at me.
“Did you have a date in mind?”
I looked at her confused. “A date?”
“Wedding date Zac, did you have anything in mind?”
I’d be lying if I said no, but I wasn’t sure how she’d take the date. “March 20.”
“You love that day don’t you?”
“Yes. Did you have a different day in mind?”
“Actually, no I was going to ask about that day.”
“Is that enough time?”
She looked at me. “Time for what?”
“Well, it took Christina what a year to plan their wedding? March is 8 months away baby.”
She rose up to her elbow, looked down at me. “You meant next year?”
I smiled, seeing her there above me again with the stars in the background.
“Yes. Why wait longer than that? We’ve already been living together for over a year; we’ve been dating for over two. The world knows about us now and when we get to net access I’ll post the engagement too but not before we tell family. Is there a reason why you’d want to wait?”
“No, there’s not a reason and depending on what exactly you want yeah that’s enough time to plan something good, unless you wanted some humongous wedding.”
I leaned up and kissed her. “We can worry about planning when we’re home. But, I want to do it right this time.”
“What do you mean?”
She laid her head down on my chest and I moved my hand to her back.
“I didn’t do anything right the first time. I didn’t ask her dad, I didn’t ask right, and every idea I had for the wedding was worthless in her opinion.”
“You asked my dad?”
She was shocked there. “No, I didn’t ask him. But, I did ask all five of your brothers and Craig for their permission and blessing.”
“The reunion when you had them alone?”
“Yep. It’s what George and I were talking about. I asked them all, but he kind of took over. I already knew what your dad would say so I by passed him.”
“How didn’t you ask right?”
I looked down a bit. “I was desperate to move on and just asked I didn’t even get her an engagement ring. She picked it out herself. She chose our bands too and she planned the whole thing I just kind of showed up. It was totally her.”
She traced circles on my chest. “You’re not getting off that lucky this time. You’ll be helping plenty with planning.”
“I look forward to that actually, because I want this wedding.”
She smiled and then I saw that glint in her eyes. “Let’s swim.”
“Now?”
“Yes, it’s pretty shallow a ways out and we don’t have to sit or anything.”
She was quick to get up and was already running down the beach before I could get up well. She was right, the beach area here was calm, the water was warm, and the depth was about waist high. She was already in the water when I got there; I was a little skittish about this. But once in the water and with her I was fine. It was nice and weird at the same time. After our midnight dip we got the blankets, baskets, and our clothes, snuffed the torches, and went inside. We showered quickly, just to get any sand off and then after drying off I couldn’t resist another round with her, not that she minded.
We remained at the cabin until Sunday afternoon, where we had to return home. Our flight was late so it was after eleven when we made it to the house. Taylor wasn’t home yet either so we elected to make Monday a day off, just to recover from traveling. Monday we told everyone that we were officially engaged and we posted it Wednesday on the website. There were some mixed reviews but overall, everyone seemed happy.
