Desire Ch. 42 - I wish you would...

POV: Zac / Emily (briefly)
Word Count: 2774
January 4, 2010
-Zac-
We were back at work and currently my brothers and I were going over the various pictures we’d taken for the purpose of album artwork. We had it narrowed down and were just deciding what would work best. Our goal was to get the album artwork completed before we had to leave for Fool’s Banquet. But my concentration was way off.
“Zac?” Taylor asked.
I looked at him. “Huh?”
“We asked if you liked this configuration.”
I looked down and scrutinized it before I agreed. But I saw them both lean back in their chairs.
“Zachary, what is going on?” Ike asked.
“Nothing.”
“Bullshit, there is something going on with both you and Emily. She’s not pregnant is she?” Taylor asked
“No! Emily has taken birth control for a long time. She’s not pregnant, I assure you.”
“Then what is it?” Taylor asked.
We hadn’t really told them everything that was going on but I suppose I probably should so I spent the next hour filling them in on what was going on with Adam and Paul. They knew some of it but not all of it.
“The police can’t do anything?” Ike asked.
“No. Even though he implies who it is they said it could be anyone. The numbers aren’t traceable and neither are the e-mails. I changed her number a week ago and he had the number before we even left the damn store.”
Taylor leaned forward. “Do you want to do Fool’s Banquet?”
“She won’t let me cancel Taylor, she’s very persistent. She doesn’t want this affecting any of our plans but I keep telling her it will. How useful will I be away from her? She won’t come with me because she fears Natalie and Nikki would be pissed off at her.”
“We’ll talk to her.” Ike said.
“It won’t do you any good. All of her brothers talked to her this past weekend, she won’t budge. Added, I’m afraid that she’s not telling me everything.”
“Why do you think that?” Taylor asked.
“There are times where I look at her and she’s so far away. She’s very jumpy now and afraid. I’m rather glad Aaron is moving out but she won’t tell him as much as she does me.”
“Can’t you get her phone and go through the messages and e-mails?” Ike asked.
“I have, many times. There’s something else and I just can’t place it and it bugs me so badly.”
“Maybe you should sit her down and talk to her Zac; it’s obvious that this is bothering you as well.”
“Tried. She insists she’s ok. She was truly fine until she seen the message from Adam.”
Isaac leaned forward and looked right at me.
“Maybe you should consider teaching her how to use those guns Zac. We cannot always be there under her and you can’t spend the whole promotional tour worried about her safety. It might be time to really take her to a gun range and teach her, even if you just cover the basics.”
“I talked to her about that last night, she said she wasn’t touching a gun. She’s never been around one and she wasn’t very happy that I had guns in the house.”
They both frowned and I looked down at the pictures in front of us, I slid the one of me jumping against a white background forward.
“She liked that one a lot and the one of me with the drum sticks.”
“She tends to like any photo of you with drum sticks.” Taylor giggled.
I smiled some, if he only knew what she thought about when she saw them. I did try to focus for the morning and by noon we had the album pictures selected and the design was the way we wanted it. I went up-stairs to check on her and found her sitting at the desk staring at the screen and a stack of papers.
“Up for lunch?”
“I’m not hungry.” She replied.
I took a step forward and realized she had tear stains on her face.
“Emily.”
She closed her eyes and leaned back. “It’s nothing Zac, same shit.”
“Did you create the new e-mail I told you to do?”
“Yeah, the first e-mail was from him, telling me how useless it was.”
“How about we go to the diner? I know you may not feel hungry but Emily you didn’t eat breakfast this morning either.”
She looked at me before giving in and coming with me, it was cold outside but we walked anyway. It just meant I got to hold her hands and pull her close to me to keep her warm. Let Paul get good shots of that as I am sure it would piss Adam off. Lunch wasn’t long enough in my opinion and when we got back I went to the office with her, she took her normal seat and I pulled my rolling stool over.
“How bad was the message?”
“Basically the same as the rest of them have been, him saying what he’s going to do and how. The only real difference in this one was he mentioned a collar and a lease.”
I turned her chair around and slid as close as I could to her. “Baby, the only person on this planet that will ever have the ability to use a collar on you is me and the one I choose is sitting at home in the top drawer. I’m sure he believes that you’ll eventually give in but you won’t.”
“What if he never stops?”
“He will eventually Emily, either he’ll screw up and get arrested or something else happens.”
She didn’t seem to be any happier so I leaned in and kissed her, moved to her neck.
“I’m sure you remember the last time we were here; you’re little impromptu fantasy session.”
“Not that you minded really.”
“Of course not, it was a little different.”
“I’d say you’re not use to being the one bend over the desk.”
I smiled. “I did send Casey a thank you message.”
She smiled evilly. “I did more than that.”
“What do you mean?”
“I sent him a video, no faces obviously.”
“You…you what?”
She got her phone and after a few minutes handed me the phone, I pressed play and watched the minute long of the video and felt the blood rush to my face. I was use to seeing myself having sex with Emily, but this was different because using the strap on means I couldn’t watch her.
“You sent this to him?”
“Yes. I didn’t include names, faces, or anything that says it’s you and I. He thanked me and he thanked me for the picture if you in that thong too.”
“Emily!”
She smiled and leaned forward. “You shouldn’t watch things that turn you on at work.”
I kissed her. “At least you smiled for me that was the goal.”
“Sneaky.”
I handed the phone back and sat there a few extra minutes trying to think of anything that would distract my brain from replaying those moments.
“Is he going to be at Fool’s?”
“No. It was moved to dates where he had prior plans. We can’t blame him really. But even if he was, you don’t have to worry baby. We all agreed that nothing happens without all three of us present.”
“I know. You better get back to work and I should too.”
I kissed her again and got up. “It’ll be fine Emily.”
I left her in the office and sent a quick message to Casey
You could have told me about the video!!!
: ) I figured she would, but I’m glad you liked my Christmas present…I assume the larger size worked better?
Yes and again, thank you. : )
I went to the conference room where we busted our asses to get the plans finalized for not just the album, but several other upcoming events.
January 17, 2010; Sunday
Emily and I had packed my bags for the week last night; our flight was scheduled to leave at 2. So we both got to sleep in a little bit before I had to get up and get ready, Emily was driving us to the airport so we would have to leave the house earlier to pick them up. She was then picking Aaron up for the week. She drove my car as her new mustang wasn’t big enough for 4 adults and luggage. I watched as she got dressed.
“It’s not too late Emily, I can get you a flight or we can drive.”
She cut her eyes to me. “I’m not going Zac.”
“You don’t need to stay here, even with Aaron.”
“He’s not going to let anyone come in Zac. I’ll be fine. I’m off Monday through Wednesday and we’re not going anywhere. I’ll only be alone after I drop you off and to get him.”
“I don’t like this Emily. Adam isn’t Paul. He’s just waiting for this moment.”
“A moment where I still won’t be alone. Fool’s is for you and eleven others to get together and write music. It’s not so I can be stuck under your ass the whole time. I’m not going to keep arguing about this.”
“I’m not done trying to make you see that you need to be with me. You are far safer with me and eleven others than you are right here.”
She turned to me and I just knew she was about to blow a gasket at me, but she stood there a few minutes.
“So, let’s assume I do go with you and Adam will follow me there, no restraining order in Texas. What do you think he will do first Zac?”
“He’ll come after you.”
“No. He’s not going to come straight to the room we have. He will start with the other rooms, because they are all standing in his way. Do you want to be the person responsible for telling those families that their loved ones are dead because you had to have me there? Do you want to tell your parents, sisters, younger brother, and your sister-in-laws that their brother, son, and husband are dead because of me? I sure as hell don’t want too. Zac, Nikki is pregnant again and the last thing she’ll need is to be told Isaac was killed by this manic that only wants me.”
I started to say something but she held her hand up and I stopped.
“That’s assuming that he doesn’t kill you also. I don’t want to be responsible for the death of anyone Zachary. He won’t try anything with Aaron here at the house, he knows Aaron and you. Fool’s is not safe for me, even if he doesn’t come there personally, you cannot guarantee that one of the other eleven people won’t accept a bribe from him to get me away from you. I’ll be safe here. I promise if anything happens while you’re gone, even a tiny occurrence then I will not argue with you about any future times you’ll be away. If you say go, I will.”
As much as I hated it, damnit she was right because we had people there who we may not completely trust and I surely wouldn’t with her safety. Aaron was the best choice and I really didn’t want to tell Mom or Dad that any of us were hurt or dead or have them be told all of us were.
“Fine, but I swear to god Emily if anything happens you will be stuck under my ass for the rest of your life.”
She giggled. “Wouldn’t you rather I be stuck under you somewhere else?”
She came over and gave me a tight hug. “I’ll be fine. You have the number so you can call.”
“You know I will.”
“Now we have to go or we’ll be late.”
We left the house and picked up Isaac first and just seeing how concerned he was about Nikki and their son, it was enough to solidify her argument the same with Taylor as he said bye to Natalie and the kids. Conversation was light and she helped us unload bags at the airport. Ike and Tay both gave her hugs but I made it a point to lift her up and let her wrap her legs around me.
“I love you.”
“I love you more.” I said.
“Call me the moment you get there, we should be at the house.”
I kissed her.
“Zac! Come on! You can do that when you get back!” Taylor said.
I sat her down and kissed her again. “Be safe going to his house.”
“I will. Have a good trip.”
She got in the car and left before I headed inside, I had this creepy weird feeling that I wouldn’t have a good trip. Casey couldn’t even make it, neither could Alex. So I didn’t even have anyone there to talk too. Our flight was eventless and the rental was decent. Once at the Ranch we set up and I sent her a message saying we were there.
: ) Good. Aaron and I have gotten food and he borrowed a ton of movies from Zander whom I didn’t get to meet, he had to go to work.
We’ll get with them both when I’m back. Be safe and I love you.
I love you.
We had a few arrive that afternoon but by 9 we were all ready for bed so I went to my room, thankfully Julie and Gabby were also not attending this year. Evidently I lost all appeal when they met Emily. I lay down and was about asleep when his ringtone went off, I shouldn’t have looked but I did. Pictures of Emily at the grocery store, it was from today because her clothes were the same.
You left her alone Zachary. Is that very wise?
She’s not alone. Her brother is with her and he will protect her for me until I am back there. You really need to give up.
I won’t give up until she’s with me. I won’t give up until I have beaten every memory of you out of her. I image that will take quite a while, how many times will I have to use a drumstick on her to get her to stop thinking about you?
You won’t get the chance to hurt her. I’ll make sure of that.
I’m sure you are aware of how many times it would take, after all the hundred or so from last time wasn’t enough. I’ll make her scream for me again and again and again…and there won’t be anything you can do to stop it.
I sat there a moment knowing that responding wouldn’t do me much good really. But I couldn’t help it.
She already screams for me and I didn’t have to force her to. She doesn’t love you; she doesn’t want to be with you. Stop trying and move on.
I waited for a reply, but I didn’t get one. I fell asleep sometime after eleven.
-Emily-
As I drove away from the airport I felt nervous, jittery, and terrified. I made sure the doors were all locked and I took a route that meant less stopping because there weren’t many red lights or stop signs. I called Aaron when I turned into the gated apartment complex to get the code and he was waiting outside the building. I was hoping to meet Zander but he said he got called in to work as he tossed his bags into the backseat. I saw the bag of movies as well. Our next stop was the store where we stocked up for dinners, snacks, breakfast and lunch. Along with just added things I needed. We were separated briefly at the store but I found him quickly.
Oddly, he lay down in the seat before we got to the house, stating that he didn’t want to be seen if Paul was watching. He went inside the house before me, making me wait in the locked car while he went through and checked. When I did come inside I realized he had closed all the blinds in the house, when I asked, he said it was too keep Paul from seeing inside. I felt like he was being super protective and that made me feel good. We fixed dinner and settled in for a three-day movie binge according to him, as a side precaution he checked the message unless it was a ringtone I was familiar with, he was really trying to help me de-stress.
