A/n: I wanted to use this date so badly and I won't lie when I realized my plan would cross this, I HAD to use it. :) I recommend watching the video. :)
October 10, 2015; Saturday
The last several days had been pretty hectic, tour started and with a bus full it was different. Added, having Eliza and I both had confused some people, like Dylan and Ryan. Both had went to her for issues and she’d had to redirect them to me. Yet, the kids loved it. Alexander was pretty use to bus living, Isabella adored all the extra attention she was getting. She had all but stopped nursing now, she only wanted me when it was bedtime pretty much and that wasn’t very often. Kind of made me sad to think she wasn’t needing Mommy anymore but she still needed me when she fell or when one of them took something away. She’d prove she could have an atomic mommy meltdown just a day into the ride, kind of shocked everyone.
But the new crew members were really nice and adjusting well, they had met the two kids in the meeting and we made damn sure that all of them understood that only specific people could correct them.
“Hey Ems, what am I doing today?” Eliza asked.
I giggled. “We should arrive at the venue in like an hour and then it’s us unloading the trailer, the boys are staying on the bus.”
“Ok.”
“Got directives for us too?” Ryan asked.
“Same as hers dude, unload and set it up.”
“I get no other directions beyond that? I could put the drums over where the keyboard goes, put Tay all up in the middle.”
“You damn well better not. I am the center of attention.” Zac said.
“Please, we all know it’s Ike’s mad guitar riffs during that last song.” Carrick said.
“That was quite awesome.” Austin said.
Isaac just smiled and slightly blushed some as the others jumped in to compliment the skills he’d showed. But I saw Alexander run to Zac and then they got up and went down to the bathroom. He was adapting to daytime training fairly well. It was helping with so damn many men around. True to word we arrived at the venue an hour later and then Kurt did a perfect job at backing us in beside the building without hitting anything or anyone. I’d been standing beside him with bated breath praying silently because the space was so small.
“Awesome job. I knew there was a reason I called you back.”
He smiled. “We’re parking at the hotel right?”
“No. Bus stays here but we do have the hotel and a driver will take you so you can sleep some.”
“Gotcha.”
I moved to the back and corralled everyone to give them the actual orders for the day.
“Alright, Zac, Tay and Ike grab the wild ones until we’re off the bus.”
It only took one and that was Zac to get them both by offering lunch, which the crew groaned about because it appeared we’d be working through lunch.
“Well, I guess Zac just volunteered to order lunch.” Ryan suggested and wiggled his eyebrow. I saw Eliza blush some.
He laughed until I looked at him. “It’s not a bad idea Zac, we’re going to be killing ourselves inside while you five get to sit and watch them.”
“Pizza it is then.”
I smiled at him and we got off the bus but Carrick and Austin remained on the bus as well. I was use to being photographed by now and I heard dozens call my name and I waved to them. Eliza seemed nervous still, the Chicago crowd had scared her because the moment she got off the bus they’d started screaming my name at her, trying to get her attention before they realized, she wasn’t me. It had scared her some with so many screaming. I had tried to warn her that Australia crowds and United States crowds were vastly different.
I unlocked the trailer first so they could begin unloading the items and then I went inside to speak to the manager which directed me where to bring the equipment in. I spent most of the early part of the day unloading and supervising everyone on what went where, including personal luggage. Kurt waved when he left and the others remained on the bus. True to his word, Pizza was delivered for everyone about an hour after we arrived, which we took 30 minutes to inhale lunch and then we went back to work!
I knew Hanson, Carrick and Austin were inside when I heard the kids. Considering Eliza couldn’t do much set up wise and I couldn’t just drop what I was doing I’d reluctantly let her keep them alone either on the bus or in a room in the back, it was taking nerves of steel but I was finding each time I went back and they were okay that it got easier for me to trust they’ll be there and they would be okay in her care. I spent an hour with them before being called out. Carrick and Austin couldn’t find their guitar case which was in plain sight but I needed to be here more than there.
I moved into the seating area for sound check, use my own radio to provide feedback to Hanson because often they wanted a listeners perspective and not just the in-house sound crew. Once they were satisfied we finished setting up. I was glad when it was dinner time, which was like four. Sitting down for a bit felt nice and I knew that meet and greets were next.
“Are you hanging out back here during the show?” Zac asked.
“Probably, kick back with munchkins, I know Eliza said she would take them back to the hotel but…”
He looked at me. “She is their Aunt.”
I just looked at him. She had saved my life but it didn’t mean she would their lives. Yet, just by the way he was looking at me told me that I should know better. Eliza knew that Zac and the kids were my lifelines and she would protect them as much as she would me. But, I just couldn’t quite let go yet. I wished I could just let go, but I couldn’t.
Carrick took the stage with Austin about 7:15, a little late but not much. The meet and greet had taken place already and the boys were getting themselves ready for their show. I decided that I would go and watch some of his show because I loved his energy on stage and I wanted some pictures of him performing as well. I walked to the front and found a spot in the space between the barrier and the stage. I got a couple really good pictures, was more a less enjoying his show.
“Emily?”
I turned to the voice yelling my name over the crowd. “Yeah?”
“Oh my god! I didn’t think it was you!”
“I get to watch sometimes!” I said and smiled at her.
Yet, she didn’t say anything in return and in a lull for the music I could hear them talking behind me, apparently they didn’t think I could hear them talking.
“Since when did Zac go for cows?”
“I know right, least Kate wasn’t piggy-like but geez.”
The music drowned out her response but I stood there a moment, sure it had taken a little longer to lose the weight with Isabella, but we hadn’t been as active around the house or studio. Yet, Zac was adamant he didn’t care about the extra weight. So what my thigh was a little bigger, he’d told me it was better for him to grab a hold of.
I picked up sharp laugher and gently turned, most of my hair hide my face and the next time the music lulled a bit I heard them again.
“He makes a ton of money you’d think he could afford bigger tits, Kate should have stayed.”
I blinked because sure I’d gone up do about D cup from the different pregnancies but they weren’t fake or implants, they were all natural and Zac did not complain about them. I moved away from the group of girls and moved to the other side of the stage, it would give me more shots of Austin too. The first time the music lulled a bit for me to hear chatter I tried not to really listen.
“She is so pathetic, she can’t even leave his side for a week. She got him tied down with a marriage and two children but she has to also work there?!”
I heard laugher. “Well gee Carol she has to make sure he’s not cheating with someone younger and hotter. Did you see him at the last Hanson day? Flirting with every hot piece of ass.”
“I don’t see how she can live with herself, we all know she’s the reasons he divorced Kate, wrecked a marriage and now she’s paranoid that he’ll do the same thing to her.”
“Wonder what excuse she used then…”
I was pretty certain they kept talking but I moved again to the center but I no longer felt like I wanted to be here and I saw Carrick smile at me and then give me his questioned look, one no one would else would know. He played my favorite song, one I knew he wasn’t suppose to play tonight and I smiled at him and tried to ignore anything behind me, I had kneeled to get a good upward shot and heard the same girls giggling widely and I just couldn’t handle anymore. I moved to the side and headed back to the back, trying to not cry.
Sure, I had heard most of it before and in general it didn’t bother me but Ian had brought those insecurities to light and now I was more aware of what the fans said, what they really thought about me. I knew there were haters, there would always be those women that wanted Zac and hated me because I had him. But, it just sucked. I had thought for so long that he was cheating on me, with another man, but cheating nonetheless. I was trying to just get to a bathroom to clean my face off and ignore the feelings.
“Baby?” Zac’s voice lingered in my mind and I knew he’d seen me.
“It’s nothing important, Zac.”
He was suddenly in front of me wiping the tears away and being pulled tightly against him.
“It’s something, you don’t often come back crying. What is it?”
“I went to take pictures of Carrick, Austin and Curtis and some girl asked if I was me, said she didn’t think it was.”
“Well, it’s not like you normally go out front. You didn’t during Anthem or anything.”
“Yeah, just they were talking during the set and when the music lulled I could hear them.”
“And? What did they say?”
I told him what they’d said word for word, how he liked pigs now or how he didn’t pay for big enough boobs.
“Sweetie you know how fans can be, they have done that to Nikki and Natalie too. I mean, babe they said Nikki was just fat when she
was pregnant with Nina. You know it’s just jealous behavior.”
“They don’t normally say that where I can hear them Zac. It’s one thing to see some post about it or be told but to hear them?”
He kissed my forehead. “There just jealous that you get to be here this close to me whenever you want. I happen to know that your assets are real and I don’t care what your weight is, you look gorgeous to me all the time. Let them believe whatever lie they need too, I know why you’re here. I know why you work for us and I happen to love that I see you every single day.”
He kissed my forehead and I let him hold me for a bit, until he had to go to be on stage. I waited about 45 minutes before I decided he was right, he loved me and that was all that mattered. I asked Eliza if she was fine to watch them so I could view the show and she said to go ahead, they were both eating dinner anyway. I hadn’t really gotten to watch a show in years, so this was a treat!
I went back where I had been earlier and shutter bugged Taylor, boy was always stalking Zac with a camera I figured a little payback was warranted. I saw him give me a confused look once which I press the button on the camera and just smirked at him. The plus side to a Hanson show was there was very little lull time, so if the girls were talking then I couldn’t hear them. Although I did get crowd pictures as well. I moved back and forth and watched capturing really good pictures but staying low so not to disturb the ladies in the front row. They started the music for I Believe in a Thing Called Love and the audience went crazy, Ike really was killing it on that guitar and I stepped over into the dark when Zac came up. Ignored the screams, I got to see him at home. He was fanning the white shirt he’d worn, clearly he was hot in more ways than one.
“It is hot up here.” He said.
I snapped a few pictures as he took the long-sleeve white shirt off and rung it out some, I saw drops of sweat dripping off of it. He then slung it to Andrew, poor guy.
“Now guys, tonight’s concert has almost come to an end, so I don’t want you to hold anything back.”
He then went into his sauce chat and even I giggled when he threw the BBQ sauce up in there. It was good to see him moving some and I adored this song, had seen them rehearse it a thousand times at the studio and he often went a little insane. I could hear the screaming girls, they were a foot away after all but I watched him and when he jumped down into the crowd I gritted my teeth as they touched him, reminded myself that they just got him here, I had him all the time. I did note that he’d pretty much avoided the areas I’d said I was, which made me smile some. I got some more pictures as he came toward me, but I was certain he didn’t know who I was as he was focused on getting back on the stage gracefully. I moved stealthy like to be more center of the stage as Ike came forward. Zac fell to his knees talking about some sexual healing but he never saw me as he jammed with Ike and Demetrius. They were making for great shots of them!
I blinked a moment when he came from the back to stand basically right in front of me. Legs slight apart and his arm waved over my head on the touching you part of the song but I was positive my eyes grew wide as saucers as he did the touching me part. His right hand had slid over his ass, down over his crotch and back up in a slow manner and part of the shirt had even come up! The noise level momentarily deafened me and apparently the women behind me didn’t realize I was his wife because the god I’d fuck him blind or I’d like to be the one he’s touching comments made my blood boil. I moved to the far right side and I could vaguely hear him talking about being baptized in sexual healing. I didn’t even bother with the steps, jumped onto the stage to the far right as he was at the drums with Taylor.
Carrick was standing there when I came up and it only took one look for him to back way off. I didn’t move away from the side entrance but I was just out of view. I wasn’t even totally sure how I felt about this. On one hand seeing him standing there like that all hot and sweaty was hot as hell and I wanted to drag him to some broom closet. On the other hand I was mad that he thought it was fine to do such highly sexually moves on stage because I was his wife and those should be reserved for when he was in front of me, alone. I just wasn’t sure if being mad was justified.
-Zac-
Son of a bitch! I hadn’t even know Emily was in the front area until my eyes connected with her briefly after that move and even though I was sure the volume of the crowd increased I couldn’t see anything but the look on her face. I however finished the song and did the bow with them before making a beeline to the side stage. Yet I saw Taylor go way out of his way to pass her and Demetrius did the same thing.
I heard Ike giggle. “Good luck with this one, we’ll be rooting she doesn’t kill you tonight.”
I didn’t bother to pretend I didn’t see her there and she didn’t say a damn word, just stood there with her arms folded over her chest. Granted, that look and pose was such an arousing sight and she always looked totally hot when she was mad. Well, usually when she was mad at anyone but me.
“Emily.”
A few of the crew members went on stage to set up for Taylor’s after party and she watched them walk by and I was kind of wanting a shower right now, I could still feel trails of sweat running down my back, sides, and down my legs. But I was afraid she might blow up if I moved.
“Go on and shower.” She said.
“Are you sure? You don’t look very happy right this minute.”
“It doesn’t matter right now because I can’t do anything anyway.”
That kind of worried me but I headed to get my bag and to the showers. I didn’t think what I did was that bad, no one else touched me like that and it wasn’t like I allowed a fan or someone else. But clearly she wasn’t quite pleased with that. I had to wait on Taylor to get done which sucked even more and Isaac was actually out before him which was odd.
“Are you two taking the kids and heading back?”
“I guess so.”
I picked up my bag and headed to the room, I was about to pull the door closed behind me when Emily stopped it and came in. That was different.
“Are you…”
I found my back against the wall pretty quickly and her lips on mine, she didn’t seem mad so maybe she’d considered it and decided I hadn’t done anything wrong. I felt her fingers nip my sides as she took my shirt off and she didn’t stop until my soaked clothes were a pile in the floor, I assumed since her bag was in here too she was showering as well and I was right. Although she had me wash her off first and while I washed the sweat from my hair she made sure it was removed from some spots, but she avoided the one area I really wished she would touch. I felt her lips on my neck as her hands came around my waist, sliding down just like I had done just not stopping, I really hadn’t expected this. If she was going to do this after shows I may have to make that crotch sliding move a regular appearance. She’s found a good rhythm, steady movements down the full length and god that felt so good.
The sharp pop brought me back from the edge of oblivion though. That had hurt fairly badly, it wasn’t playful and it was much harder than her normal ones.
“Do not ever do that on stage again. I don’t really care what the purpose or the reason was. I don’t care if it makes them buy more merchandise, I don’t care if you just wanted to be a tease. Don’t do it again.”
“I just…”
I shut up when the next sharp pop came to the other side.
“I don’t care what your reason was or what you thought it would do. If you want to do that, we have a private room for that. Because the next time your hand dips that far there better be one person watching and that’s me. Don’t think this is all either, I can’t very well do anything because so many people are here. But I am sure I can think of something.”
I didn’t even realize at first she’d gotten out of the shower until I turned around, intending on a lot more. But she wasn’t here and I could hear her getting clothes. I started to finish myself off quickly but her voice filtered though.
“Don’t even think about it. Eliza has had them long enough and it’s late. We need to get them and get to the hotel.”
Fuck! I went ahead and finished my shower and she was fully dressed before I was but she acted like nothing was wrong after that. She greeted Eliza like nothing was wrong, she talked to Carrick who gave me funny looks because he’d apparently seen it all also. But she had a point, Isabella was getting ill and so was Alexander and Eliza looked tired.
Isaac opted to hang around with Taylor for a bit so we got the car and got them back to the hotel. Both of the kids were down basically as soon as we arrived, she’d fallen asleep on the drive over and I had managed to not wake her up.
“Emily? Are you mad at me?”
“Not right now, you do that again and I will be.”
“You know I didn’t mean anything with that right? Just thought it would get a rise from the crowd.”
“Oh it did, the bitches behind me thought it was great.”
I blinked. “Did you just…”
I’d rarely ever heard Emily talk about fans in a negative way, except the few that she wanted to whip ass when they complained about Alexander. But that was because they were talking about him.
“Well, the blonde one said she’d love for you to do that to her but her little friend felt she could fuck you blind. For the record same blonde one that thinks you can do better and not be with a pig.”
“And I told you that you are perfect the way you are and you know the only person I am touching is you and the only person I’d ever want to fuck me blind is you.”
“Still, we both need to crash they’ll be up early and you have the walk.”
We both got ready and laid down but I pulled her to me tightly and I knew she was still mad but I was thinking some of the anger was displaced because it didn’t matter how badly they talked about her, she wouldn’t say anything.
“I mean that Emily. You are perfect. I love every little dip and curve and I wouldn’t let you do a reduction unless you absolutely wanted it.”
She curled up there. “I know.”
I kissed her forehead and while I kind of wanted a lot more, both of them were in the room with us so that wouldn’t fly. She fell asleep before me and about 1 Taylor text me and I got it.
So…you *are* going to be OK tomorrow right? No sitting easily? No bruises?
I will be Tay..no need to sit easily. Why?
I told you the idea was bad Zac, you should have known she wouldn’t really like that. Didn’t help you did that right in her face…wth man?
I didn’t see her! But it wasn’t all that move..fans made some rather inappropriate comments both after that and even earlier today. I mean they basically called her a pig Tay…it really hurt her feelings.
OMG! How rude! Natalie has complained about that crap too, but I don’t think they’ve been that bad. But…she’s never had a problem with that before right?
Right…first time she’s ever expressed it being a problem, could be a result or consequence of Ian.. After party go well?
Yep. We’re about to head to the hotel now. Walk @ 2 don’t forget. Is she walking?
No idea. She may choose to stay here or at the venue.
Ok. Seeya in the AM.
I laid the phone down and settled back down beside her, Alexander rose up briefly but went back to sleep so I closed my own eyes and drifted off.
**Inspiration**
This chapter was inspired by a true event. The events of the show (Zac's move) occured at the Toronto show on the Roots N Rock N Roll Tour 2015. You can watch the actual performence (in full) at the link below. :) (Your welcome if you haven't seen it!)
