Chapter 48 – Computer programs and Colton
POV: Zac/Emily/Zac
Word Count: 6193

January 26, 2010;
-Zac-

Aaron and Zander had left at 5:30 am, Zander insisted that Aaron go home and sleep in a bed and not the chair. He tried to encourage me to go home for a bit today as well, but I was not leaving. He removed her IV and at 6:30 a nurse came in and got her in the shower. She was happy for the shower, even if it was before dawn. She chose her Scooby-Doo pajamas and then got comfortable again.

“You look tired Zac, when is Taylor coming up?”

“I’m fine, he said about eight. I’m not lying down Emily.”

“I’ll stop nagging if you lie down and sleep when Casey gets here.”

I looked at and grinned. “Or I could just sleep there tonight.”

“Zachary.”

“Fine! When Casey gets here I’ll lay down for a little while.”

“Don’t make me get him after you.”

I smiled and sat back to wait. “Are you glad you have clothes now?”

“Yes. I hate hospital gowns.”

“As I recall, you once told me it meant easy access.”

“As I recall, you said you were too sick for that.”

“You’re up 2 for 1 for the hospital stays though.”

“For god sake Zac don’t get sick! Besides, I can handle being ahead because I think I’m done with hospitals.”

“Glad your feeling better at least.”

There was a knock and the door opened, Taylor and Casey came in. Taylor had the plates in hand which he handed Emily hers first.

“Ems, I’m sure I fixed you way too much. Natalie reminded me after the fourth egg that you weren’t Zac.”

“Hey!” I said.

He smiled and handed me my plate, it was still warm and perfect. She opened hers and began to eat kind of slow, following Zander’s directions. I on the other hand was not under anyone’s instructions to eat slowly, so I dove in.

“Um, don’t choke Zac.” Casey said.

I glared at him and Emily giggled. “The grizzly is awake, don’t provoke him.”

“I see.” Casey said.

“What can I say; my breakfast is just that damn good.” Taylor said.

I rolled my eyes, but he was right. His omelets were the bomb and I was thrilled with the jalapenos he’d put in mine, I was sure he left those out of Emily’s. Casey watched me concerned I was going to choke and Taylor idly chatted with Emily about how he made hers. I thanked Taylor when I finished the whole plate.

“Were you starving Zac?” he asked.

“Basically, Zander woke us up at like 5.”

“Yeah, I didn’t get up until Penny came running in and jumped on us, which was 6:30.”

“I woke up when he started cooking, 6:45.” Casey said.

“Natalie sends her regards, Ezra was still asleep and she didn’t want to wake him.”

“It’s ok. I know they care and really Ezra and Penny don’t need to be in this germ infested place.” Emily said.

“I told her that but they wanted to see you too, Ezra asks us about you at least fifty times a day.”

She smiled but went back to eating and she finally closed the lid and I sat the plate in her mini-fridge for later.

“How are you feeling?” Casey asked.

Emily appeared thoughtful. “Well, like I got shot twice.”

I giggled at her reply and Casey smiled at her.

“But you’re doing better right?”

“Yes. The thigh wasn’t that bad just hurts like a bitch. The abdomen is a different story, a few more inches and a kidney would have been zapped or worse. I’m lucky the gun was small and the length it traveled wasn’t closer.”

He nodded. Taylor stayed for about an hour before he headed to the studio, Casey stayed at the hospital with us. She looked restless and irritated though, like she wanted to be elsewhere.

“You don’t want to be here do you?”

She looked at him. “No. I’d rather be at hom…”

“Home?” He asked.

“Not sure I really want to be there either.”

“Did the police provide any answers?”

“Yes. Aaron was cemented into the bedroom; he came in the house at 11:15 using Zac’s code. There is evidence he was hit, so hopefully he’s laying dead in a ditch somewhere.”

He nodded and she looked at me and I already knew what she was going to say because she’s scooted to the far edge of the bed just moments before.

“Now Zac! I didn’t nag you anymore and Casey is here.”

“She looks serious Dude; you may want to do whatever it is she’s wanting.”

I got up and moved to the bed, laid down beside her. “She’s commanding I sleep actually. Apparently I look tired.”

“You do and she’s right, I’m here and I know what Adam looks like and Paul.”

I rolled my eyes and lay down on my side; she even pulled the blanket up over me. I laid there a moment remembering what she said about home, would she now be afraid of her own home? I hated how Adam seemed to ruin everything, especially when things felt so great. Here I was again in a hospital, because he can’t let her go. I didn’t think I would fall asleep, not with the million thoughts running through my head. I laid my arm behind her against her butt, it was just to know she was there and I felt sleep coming, so I didn’t resist it.

-Emily-

I glanced down after I felt his hand and his eyes were closed and after a few minutes he was out.

“Has he been staying awake at night too?”

“No, he’s not sleeping well in the chair; Zander made Aaron go home earlier for the bed.”

“They love you; they’ll do whatever it takes.”

“Yeah, that’s what worries me.” I smiled and he did too.

“I guess since it’s just us, there was something that we wanted to ask you and it was my idea actually.”

“Shoot.”

“You know Craig is going through our electronics and even the studio. I am sure a security team will be hired for the wedding, but I don’t want our honeymoon ruined because of them.”

“I understand, it’s your first and well, we’ll just say its Zac’s too.”

“It basically is. I don’t want them to know any of the details. I want to drop off the planet in their eyes.”

“Understandable, what would you need from me?”

“We have a destination, Craig is bringing me a laptop so we can kill time and make plans. If Zac and I can get you a list of what needs to be reserved, can you make those reservations for us? We trust you and we know you won’t tell anyone, the confirmations can be given to us at the wedding.”

He gave me a very wide smile. “Whatever you need me to do, I will. I think being able to get away and truly be away from them will be a great relief to you both.”

“You just can’t communicate with us about them, so we will try to get everything you’ll need before you head home.”

“Ok.” He said.

It got quite for about an hour, Zac turned over onto his stomach and I let the bed down a little more. I could hear light snores and even though one hand moved, the other arm came to rest in the same spot.

“I’ve never seen him sleep that way, usually he’s on his back or sides.”

“He doesn’t often sleep this way but I have seen him in this position many times.”

“Kind of wish he wasn’t, all kinds of perverted thoughts running through my head right now.”

“Um, yeah mine too. I’m very tempted to pop his ass but I don’t want to wake him up.”

He giggled. “So, are you really ok?”

“Physically, I’ll heal. It’ll take time and it shouldn’t affect the wedding at all thankfully. I just…mentally I’m not ready to say that everything will be fine. I’m not ready to say that he’ll give up because I don’t think he will.”

“He may after your wedding; you’ll be tied to Zac then.”

I shook my head. “That’s what scares me the most Casey, Adam is insistent that I’ll be his wife and I’ll marry him. He’s demanded it basically and in his mind he is who I should marry. He wants to punish me for choices I made; it’s what he said in an e-mail. I’m marrying Zac March 20th regardless, but I don’t think he’ll give up after that. I think if anything, he’ll get worse.”

“Why worse?”

I looked down at Zac and moved some of the hair from his face. “Because it was my decision to marry Zac, I agreed to be his wife and to spend my life with him and not anyone else. Adam will view that as the ultimate act of betrayal on my behalf. He’s only mad that I agreed, but going through with it will piss him off.”

“You think he’ll come after you again after the wedding?”

I looked at him. “It’s guaranteed he will. Because according to him, I am his and I should do what he says.”

“You are no one’s and you’ve made that very clear. About those guns, was that real or just the shock talking?”

I considered the statement and looked down at Zac still asleep. “I want to learn about them and how to shoot them.”

“Do you think it’s something you’ll need to know how to do?”

“Yes. I realized as bullets zinged around my house that even if the gun slid to me, I would have had no idea what to do with it. I want to know so that in the future I’m not that terrified, I’m not frozen in fear and I never want to feel that way again.”

He smiled. “I am sure Zac won’t mind teaching you. You look tired too Emily, why don’t you lie down beside him and sleep for a bit yourself. I’m going to move to that chair and just become a vegetable under the TV. Having two kids around me was exhausting.”

“You should have all three of them. Are you sure? You know Zac will freak out if you fall asleep.”

“I’ll be awake, just going to watch some movies and watch you two sleep.”

He moved to the chair and I carefully moved Zac’s arm.

“Emily?” Zac asked.

I looked down. “I’m laying back myself, couldn’t lie on your hand.”

He moved his arm and I lay back, he looked asleep as I lay down and his hand found my arm and laid there.

“That is so sweet.” Casey said.

I giggled. “That’s more; you can’t leave without me knowing.”

“Still, I wonder if I can get him in a nurse outfit when your home.”

“Maybe, if no one will be there but you and me.” I said.

I saw Zac smile some. “Dream on Casey, dream on.” He said.

“We shall see.” Casey said.

I fell asleep fairly quickly myself but the doctor woke me up at 11:45 to walk a bit and when I got up, Zac got up. Since Zac had a car here he went to get them lunch, I opted for the tray I was brought. He wasn’t gone very long and when he came in he was holding a plastic bag.

“What is that?” I asked.

“A man handed it to me said it was from Paul. I’m not opening it and I will call the police.”

“Ok.”

My lunch came and we all ate quietly. I let Zac know that Casey was fine with making the plans for us. We talked about what he would need while we waited on Craig and Christopher.

-Zac-

About 3pm Craig and Christopher came in and I saw the little smile that Craig gave me when he walked in and saw Casey sitting there too. I was sure this was not going to be something I personally would deem pleasant.

“Not having any thong parties in the hospital are we?” Craig asked.

I could already feel light heat in my cheeks. “No…”

“Oh come on! I am sure Emily wouldn’t mind! What with her apparent new fetish. I mean really Emily; you could have asked a long time ago, I wouldn’t have minded giving you a show.”

She giggled and then grimaced some. “I’m sure you wouldn’t have minded, but really Craig do you think another guy would have been fine with it?”

“Sure! I know some very freaky people.”

I saw the look Christopher shot him and couldn’t help myself. “I guess you’re one of them Chrissy?”

He looked at me and snickered. “Keep in mind Zachary; Emily cannot get up to save your ass.”

“You’d be amazed at what I can do.” She smirked.

I looked over at Casey and he looked kind of pale and confused. It dawned on me that Casey didn’t know they knew what had happened in October, so this was probably very confusing to him.

“What’s wrong Casey? I am sure you quite enjoyed watching them.”

His eyes got very wide and his face turned bright red. “Watching?” His voice was nervous.

“Oh my god! We forgot to tell you! At Christmas Zac was drunk and when Craig mentioned the New Year’s party he went to send you a text to ask and at the end he said I bought the thongs for him and you could take them off if you wanted. I replied with how bad he was and said I’d have to spank him and then let you…well, he said I didn’t have to wait…” Emily giggled as she paused.

I was glad she smiled and giggled. She hadn’t done much of either since waking up Thursday.

“About that time she realized that Zac never sent the message to you. He sent the message to me, Christopher, Aaron, and Emily.” Craig said.

Casey looked at me. “Seriously Zachary?”

“I was drunk! I seen the C in the name list and assumed it was you. Don’t fret much, they wouldn’t let go until they dragged it out of us.”

“Oh yeah! He hid under a blanket! Until she yanked it off and I swore he paled and got all red at the same time.” Craig said and smiled widely.

“It wasn’t fair for me to defend him while he was hidden under a blanket.” Emily said.

“Truth, you seriously hid under a blanket?” Casey asked, amused.

“Yes! You know how I am. I hide when anyone mentions sex.”

“Shocked he hasn’t crawled up here under the blanket yet.” Emily said.

“He’s probably afraid you’d get him with the drum sticks again.” Casey said and giggled.

I froze. Solid. I felt the heat rush to my face and spread to my ears which burned like a wildfire. I could see Craig and Christopher turn to me and fuck the idea of hiding under the blanket was very tempting. Casey looked at me and grinned.

“Let me guess, they didn’t know that little tidbit?” he smirked

“That would be a no.” Emily said.

“Well, I asked about paddles and belts, but damn Zac you are a little freak in the bedroom.”

“She hits fucking hard with a belt! I swore she left permanent imprints from the design on the belt on my ass.” Casey said.

“She spanked you too?” Craig asked, and I could tell that shocked him completely.

It was Casey’s turn to go completely red. “Yeah, we didn’t tell them that either smartass.” I smirked.

“Hey! I was there for your fantasy pretty boy, don’t forget that. Remember Zac? I was your birthday present?” He smirked.

Yeah, whatever blood had been moving stopped. Even Emily looked a little shocked by that and both Christopher and Craig just stared. I actually saw Emily cover her head up, son of a bitch she was leaving this to me!

“Um…I thought he was there for Emily’s little three-some plan.” Christopher said.

“That didn’t happen for a bit, someone had to be smacked in the head first.”

“Sounds like you did a lot more than smacking.” Craig smirked

Casey looked at me. “Did you guys not tell him why I was there?”

“Uh yeah, they told us you were there because Emily wanted a threesome to get over what happen. That you and Zac didn’t do anything with each other until after that threesome occurred.”

“Oh…”

Craig looked at me and I braced myself. “So…um…he was there for you originally? You flew right under my radar.”

Casey smiled. “Oh, trust me he’s much more into women, well, let me rephrase he’s much more into a woman named Emily.”

“Are you sure?”

He tilted his head and smiled widely. “I’ve watched them have sex dude, I am positive he’s more into her than he is me.”

I just sank a little lower in the seat.

Craig sat down in the chair beside me and leaned over. “Completely explains the video then.”

I groaned and sunk down even more, I wasn’t really sure if my ass was even in the seat anymore.

Emily peaked out from under her blanket. “Is it safe yet?”

“No, you lied to us.” Christopher said.

“Oh come on! He was mortified enough without me telling you the real reason I called Casey.”

“Wait, you still called him?”

She giggled and grimaced just a bit again. “I did a lot more than calling Craig. After spanking them both I sat in the chair and watched them.”

Christopher groaned. “I so don’t need this information.”

“Blame your boyfriend.” She said.

“Oh I do.”

She smiled some and I wished I had worn two shirts today.

“You can borrow my paddles and handcuffs, I won’t mind as long as you clean them before bringing them back.”

“You have handcuffs? I could have had so much more fun.” Casey said.

Craig looked at me seriously. “Seriously Zac, it’s ok to be curious about things like that. Not many men are brave enough to even voice their curiosity to someone there with let along follow through with it.”

I looked at him. “Not many women are like Emily, you should have seen her list. I mean really dude, you knew about that one little fetish of hers, do you think she’s not a closet freak herself?”

He giggled. “I know what kind of freak she is Zac. Poor Christopher refuses to believe that she’s anything but sweet and innocent.”

Christopher sat down beside her on the bed and smiled. “She will always be sweet and innocent, no matter what you tell me. Emmy will you be excited to go home, so you can be waited on hand and foot by everyone around you?” Christopher asked.

“I am still rooting for that nurses outfit to make an appearance when she’s home. She will need Nurse Zac for sure.” Casey said without any provocation at all.

I turned to him astonished, he sounded very happy about that prospect actually despite my earlier saying. Emily smiled from the bed, probably remembering the last time I’d worn them, which wasn’t that long ago really but Christopher and Craig seemed confused.

“Nurse outfit?” Craig asked.

“Basic scrub uniform, you can buy them at any store that sells them.” I said.

Emily smiled. “They can be quite hot and very sexy when there bought too small.”

“Geez!” Christopher said.

We smiled and it got quite, it was good to see her smiling some because the last few days have been rather depressing and despite the embarrassment it was nice to relax a bit. I let it stay quiet for a bit, allowing my face to return to normal and Casey’s face as well.

“My friend should be here soon, he just texted me he was on his way.” Craig said.

“Your friend?” Emily asked.

“Yes. I felt my friend would be better explaining it to you. When he gets here if you both are OK with it, the rest of us can step out and maybe Casey can tell us all about those adventures.” Craig said.

Emily and I both looked at Casey and I saw him swallow hard.

“Uh…that would be a no. Given the looks there both giving me I know how hard she hits and I image Zac can do much worse.” He replied.

“I tried.” Craig said.

About 25 minutes later someone knocked and Craig got up and got it. A taller man came into the room, he had short brown hair and bright blue eyes, he also wore black rimmed glasses but he had a nice smile and a black briefcase with him.

“Emily, Zac, and Casey this is Colton Wilson, he’s my co-worker and the person that has been going through your electronics.” Craig said.

Colton greeted us all with a firm handshake and a warm smile, I decided I liked him.

“We’re going to leave him here and step out so that we don’t confuse you or anything.” Christopher said.

Casey stepped out with them and Colton upon my approval sat at the foot of the bed.

“How tech savvy are you both?”

“We’re familiar with computers and stuff, we often do some minor changes and repairs.” I said.

“So, you both know what a basic computer program is then?”

“Yes. We use a few different programs and software both at home and work.” She said.

“Great. I’m going to start with your home. I went through your home computer first because most of the times it’s easier to access computers that are wired in. What I found was a program that didn’t show up anywhere else, it was designed to hide from the users.”

“So, there was a program on our home computer that was basically hidden from us?” I asked.

“Yes. Craig said you had a power outage a few months ago and that someone else was in your house, what I believe he did was inserted a USB port with the program on it to your computer while he was there. He also managed to patch into your alarm system and insert a program there too. Your alarm wires are exposed in several places. When your power came back up the alarm system automatically got infected for lack of better term. When you turned the computer on, it was infected.”

“Ok. What exactly did this program do?”

“It did three things. The first was it allowed someone to remotely access your computer. So, they could sit anywhere and watch whatever you did. He could see who you e-mailed, what those said, when you read them, everything you did. It did not record your keystrokes, so passwords are probably ok. I would recommend changing them. The second thing it did was move to new devices. The program was built to move onto devices that had your phone numbers or names on. I assumed you hooked your phones up sometimes after that, because your phones had the program on it. Because of that he could then see what was on your phones. The third was the program allowed him to access the cameras and webcams. This means that he could use them to see what you were doing.”

“So, you’re saying the program went into the phones and it allowed Paul or whoever to actually see what we were doing on our phones?” I asked.

“Yes. I did find the program on your video game systems. But, there was no web cam to either system, so he could just see the game you played, this was a pointless device to infect really.”

I was thankful for that much, considering we spent a lot of time in our living with Casey. He paused a moment. We both just waited, this wasn’t good news to us not considering the things we did in or around computers and if any of that leaked to the public, what would be the repercussions?

“Any questions about the program’s use and what it was programmed to do?”

“No.” we said.

“Ok. So, to correct the problem I first removed the programs from the devices that were infected which were all of your computers, video game system, and phones. The alarm is down because I cannot touch it; it’s not contracted to us. So, after cleaning your electronics of malware, spyware, and the program I installed programs that will block future remote access requests. Not even the two of you can, it can be a pain in the ass but considering the severity of this, it’s required. If you feel safe enough in the future, it can be removed.”

“No, it’s fine really. We don’t do a lot of remote accessing at home.” Emily said.

“Concerning your phones, there is now a program on your phones that will block any number not present on your contact list. You will need to re-add all contacts though and I know that can be thousands, but it’s necessary. Craig backed up any photos, videos, and data but I would recommend not adding those back. So, you will not receive any messages or calls from numbers not added by you. Also, your numbers were changed again. E-mail wise, I couldn’t do much. I added a program that will scan incoming e-mails and those containing key words, which Craig has the list, will be sent to a separate folder for review. Those e-mails from them once rejected will be sent to the detective in charge of your case, she was happy to provide a location.”

“Is that how he got the new numbers as well?” I asked.

“Yes. But, you don’t have to worry about that anymore. They cannot access your phones anymore, if you change phones I can put the program over and at that point, I can actually transfer the data instead of requiring you to re-enter everything. E-mail wise, I would recommend changing them if possible, I know Zac’s work e-mail is pretty well established but create tougher passwords for those you wish to keep.”

We both nodded and he took a breather, got himself a cup of water and resumed his seat.

“If there are no more questions about the computers I will move on to the alarm.”
“We’re good.” I said.

“Ok. Alarm wise all I can really tell you is that the alarm was infected with the same programming, so he could remotely see the outside of the house and it is how he got into your home last week, the program here recorded and transmitted the alarm codes you use. I cannot repair or change anything to your alarm right now because it’s under Tulsa Alarms. Personally, I don’t like them.”

“Why?” Emily asked.

“The primary reason is because they have exposed wiring for the system, inside and outside. Your main wires are in the garage and exposed, it’s probably where he patched in at. Our system is much more contained, the wires are either in the walls covered or there covered with a tubing that prevents such tampering is noticeable when cut. We also offer several methods to arm and disarm; our most popular is the use of fingerprints, so you know who it is. Added, this method saves prints so if you aren’t the person trying the police will get instant prints of who did.”

Emily looked up at me as I handled the house stuff. “Do you have a price list or anything with you?”

He got some papers from his briefcase and handed them to me. “I do.”

She and I reviewed the prices, which were better. “Would your system prevent this from happening again?”

“I cannot say it will prevent you from being shot, but it will prevent anyone from hacking the alarms or spying on you. Again, the wires outside will be covered and you can visually see if there tampered with. Inside, the wires are covered or inside the wall.”

“Where do we sign up?” I asked.

“I have the papers here you can fill out, once we’re done talking we can fill those out and I’ll have Craig bring you a copy of the papers for your records.”

“Perfect.” Emily said.

“Any more questions concerning the house or alarms?”

“No.” We replied.

“So, Zac this is more for you but Emily works there as well so it does affect her. Your brothers and I have already talked about this, but they requested I tell you. Basically, the program that was on your computer was also on your work computers and alarm system. This means that he could tap into any web cam in the studio and watch you or any alarm surveillance video. Now, the only computers that didn’t contain the program were the primary studio area, which is where you record the music. It’s a separate network and Taylor said none of you ever plugged into those computers. I believe because it was a separate network, that’s what prevented the program from being there. The rest however were networked so even using one computer let it infect them all.”

“We separated the networks a few years ago for speed and reliability and security.”

“It’s the same program, did the same thing but he had access to more there because of your employees and your brothers. Your brother’s have already agreed to allow us to secure the network there, we can’t disallow remote access there, but we can prevent such programs from spreading. We can protect the network better and upgrade the alarm system.”

“So, basically you would be protecting our company assets in a better manner that what they are now?”

“Yes.”

“Obviously Taylor and Isaac agree, so I will agree with them. What about my family and our friends? They sometimes use those computers as well.”

“Isaac contacted everyone who had access to your computer or the studio since that time. We have already gotten Emily’s brothers phones and computers and cleaned them from our Georgia location and your family comes in tomorrow with theirs and we actually got Casey’s yesterday. In addition, your brothers elected to improve their security as well, so we’ll be redoing theirs. But, your house is first because of her coming home.”

“So, he’s going to know pretty much immediately that you have removed the program and protected the items right?” Emily asked.

“Yes. Craig recorded a quick professional video saying we knew, we repaired, and you’re safe.”

“If my brother hadn’t been in the house, there would have been nothing stopping him right?”

“Right. I mean you got hurt but your brother being there saved you because the alarm wouldn’t have alerted the police.”

It got quite a few moments.

“Anymore questions on anything?”

“I can’t think of any.”

Emily shook her head. So he got the papers for us to fill out, and he quietly waited while we completed the forms. We choose to do internal cameras this time, but to only be on when we say so, this would help us when we were on tour to watch the house. We also let the outside be covered better. He finalized them and then he was done and left. About ten minutes later the other’s reentered the room. Emily and I looked at Craig.

“So, we didn’t ask him but could Adam have taken things from our phone and put them online somewhere like Facebook?” I asked.

Christopher came back to Emily’s side and sat down.

“Unfortunately he could. Thankfully the two of you aren’t crazy enough to take nude photos of each other, at least, not since the last time you did that. The video, which I know is your concern, shouldn’t be a problem because there is minimal sound and no names are said, nothing says it’s the two of you. No identifying marks or anything.”

“What video?” Christopher said.

Emily patted his leg. “You don’t want an answer, trust me. It would blow your perception of me to hell.”

“I mean, unless you turn your phones toward the bed to have sex or had sex in front of your computer you should be fine. Even the location in which you were in should be fine because there is no webcam on yours and Emily’s webcam is kept in the drawer, she apparently hates it.”

“I moved it in November because I kept feeling like I was being watched. Evidently I was being watched.”

I looked at her and I believe we both swallowed at the same time and I am sure the same thought occurred to us both, months ago when she found the albums.

“Oh please tell me you didn’t make some homemade movie.”

“No. It’s just…we’ve had sex in the music room and it was after the power went out.” I said.

Casey snorted. “From what I understand, there isn’t a place in your entire house that you haven’t had sex.”

“The garage, it’s either way too cold or way too hot.” Emily said.

“You’re both little nympho’s that’s why!” Casey said.

Craig giggled and Christopher rolled his eyes.

“Well, unless he knew you were planning too there is a chance that he didn’t see that. Otherwise, there could be a chance that it exists.”

“Well, we need to head home. Casey are you staying?”

“Yep. Isaac said he was bringing Zac dinner and I’ll head back with him. Emily is safe with Zac.”

“Ok. We’ll we’re heading out. Get some rest and don’t worry, we’re going to keep you safe. Now that we know how he’s getting his information we can put a stop to it.”

“Did you bring me a laptop?”

“Yes! It’s in the car, let me run and get it.”

Craig left and returned with his laptop. “The network here is safe and the computer is safe. He won’t know it’s you so whatever you need to do.”

“Thank you.”

He and Christopher left after hugs and Isaac showed up just before they brought her plate in, perfect timing, he brought Casey’s too so we could eat together, they left about 8 and I settled beside her on the bed, without the wires I didn’t much care if the nurses cared if I slept here tonight, they could kiss my ass if they wanted. I leaned down and kissed her forehead.

“You’ll be safe at home Emily, I promise you that. You don’t have to fear being there or at the studio.”

“I know. However, I have been thinking about bringing up the subject of moving and maybe building something in a more private area.”

“You want to move?”

“I like being close to work, it saves tons on gas but once we’re married and thinking about kids it’s not a safe place to raise a child. We are close to the studio which is popular with fans and any of them can follow us and see where we live, which would mean problems. Added, there’s no real yard there for children to play in.”

“You’re thinking far ahead and just the other day you were saying you weren’t sure about kids because of Adam.”

“Yes, but Isaac was right Zac. So, I guess it’s good that I am thinking ahead.”

“It is good and we can discuss it more in February because I’ll be home a lot with you.”

“You can’t Zac, you have plans that have to be completed and while some of them can be worked on at the house, a lot of them can’t be. I am sure that Aaron, Christopher, or Craig can work with us and someone can stay. Otherwise, I can just chill on the sofa in the office.”

“We can do a lot from the house and when there rewiring we can’t do anything anyway, so we can just chill at the house and discuss things like Hanson Day plans, the final release date, the promotional tour finalizations we can do all of that at the house with you. By the end of February you should be well enough to at least ride to work and light duty.”

“Ok. Anyway, we should both rest. I want to go home Thursday.”

I kissed her forehead. “No problem.”

Emily was actually asleep before me and I laid there beside her thinking about how to protect her. Even though Isaac had a point, so did Emily. Adam was against our marriage and several messages said he wouldn’t allow it to happen. This was her first and hopefully only wedding, this was my last one. I didn’t want him or anyone else to cause problems or try to cause problems. But, at the same time who wants armed security at their wedding?

The plus side is we had used aliases to book the wedding plans such as the venue, catering, and other aspects. This was not because of Adam, but more because of fans. So, we were secure there and the different places hadn’t minded at all.  I wondered if we could do the same for the airlines.

I drifted off in thoughts of security and airlines…
